One Building’s Construction
How about marble for your stair steps? Pretty classy, eh? They were just beginning the installation of the slabs when I was there, and I was asked to be
careful when walking on them. On the second floor I found two workmen preparing interior doors for installation, and these too looked quite nice. Notice the blue tarp on the floor to protect the newly installed tile flooring.
In the next room, another worker was hanging out the window to spray stain on the window frames. Safety rules? What safety rules?
Alas, with only three weeks to go before our departure, I won’t see anyone move into the house. I guess that will have to wait until our first return visit.
Actually, Doug, the stone looks like granite. Granite is readily available from Vietnamese quarries at a very low cost and is used in almost all new house construction in VN today. And wait until the uncover the tile floors -- they do very good work on tile in Viet Nam.
Even after the construction is completed, it is likely the owner will delay moving in until his astro. advisors tell him the most auspicious day to move in.

Hey Doug, love this series.
The young man in the window has "One hand for himself and one hand for the Company"
Years ago I set a window frame in place at night on the fourth floor of a local college building. I needed both hands to do it and with no provisions for tieing off I had my younger brother Joe hold me by my belt while I stood in the window opening and leaned out into the darkness. I told him then that if he let me fall, mom would kill him.
