(This is one of the many postings that were written in Hué, but never posted. The event occurred in late May one evening as we were walking home from dinner.)

The man and the woman were standing in front of the store where we usually buy our butter. They were just talking, but I realized she was holding a bag o
f ducks. I had seen them before in baskets (ducks - not the man and the woman!), and even in plastic carriers, but never in a plastic grocery bag. I actually heard them before I saw them.
The woman handed off the picture-posing to the man, who seemed quite proud of the job. But then, she took them back, and then they all went home. The man, the woman, and the ducks.
